Nicholas Bolton engineers all projects at Holy Tapes! Mastering. Nick started mastering in 2014 to help independent bands enhance and finish their albums affordably. He’s since worked with hundreds of artists and rebuilt the studio in Jersey City NJ.

Nick is also the Audio / Video Supervisor at NYU Steinhardt Department of Music and Performing Arts where he teaches, designs and engineers for three performance spaces.

He creates modular synth + tape loop music under the names Arsenic and Raft. Past projects include ex wife and Wetwired.

Metadata encoding, edits and revisions are included. Rates are flexible, let me know if you need some help.


For best results keep mix bus processing light, please no limiting.

Send digital mixes in a .zip file to avoid possible data corruption.

Also send an email or text file with the following
- Spelling, capitalization and punctuation of the band name, album name and each track title
- Album order, including side splits for cassette and vinyl release
- Any specific track spacing notes (or a reference audio file of the album with spaces)
- ISRC / UPC codes if applicable
- Alternate version needs (instrumental, radio, etc.)
- Album or song references for A/B comparisons
- Album art if you want it encoded in MP3s
- Any other special instructions you have

Turnaround times vary based on scheduling but average about one week. Rush service guarantees master previews within 3 days - contact me for availability.

Payment is appreciated in advance but if money’s tight we'll figure something out.

I send previews as 16bit WAV files for approval.

Final masters are delivered as WAV files in both 16bit/44.1khz and 24bit/96khz. Additional high resolution files are included in the download link for analog-friendly masters and DDP Image if ordered.
